An offline editor with a previewer made for The Range Planet, including a customized instance of phpBB called "miniTRP4" used to preview your threads offline.

miniTRP4 under the directory "fosscomponents\minitrp4" is based on the phpBB project, and thus under the GNU Public License 2.0.
sed for Windows under the directory "fosscomponents\sed" is a GNU tool ported to Windows, and thus under the GNU Public License 3.0.


To use the threads previewing functionality to view threads as they would look on the website while offline:

Open the file labeled "runpreviewerserver.bat", this will open a local Apache HTTP server running a customized instance of phpBB on port 8800.

If you see a message from Windows Firewall about Apache HTTP server, you can press allow.

Now, double click on "rangertrp4.exe" to start up Ranger. If Ranger does not start up immediately, keep trying until it does.

Click the green arrow to preview your page, and if everything went well you will see a preview of your page as it would look on the website in the right panel.

If you are shown a dialog box about reentering information, you don't have to reenter anything, just click yes.


Advice: Do not forward port 8800 to the world wide web while using the miniTRP4 previewer. If you have not changed any settings on your router, it should be fine.
In layman's terms: Don't allow computers you don't recognize access to miniTRP4, it runs a web server that is only meant to be accessed by the computer of the user.
